About Tiny Island Ceramics

Tiny Island Ceramics is a ceramics studio owned and operated by Jessica Jæger and located on a tiny island in the North Sea on the West Coast of Norway. Jessica first started making things with her hands as a child living in the country in Northern Wisconsin. Running wild in the woods of Northern Wisconsin, she created moss gardens, dammed up small streams, collected Maple sap and distilled in into syrup and "helped" with her family's honey business. She can remember digging wild clay from the shores of Lake Superior and crafting her first handmade pots as a child.

Always an artist, Jessica continued to work with clay in high school. Following that, she studied Ceramics at Tulane University in New Orleans where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics in the late 90s. 

Jessica continued to work with clay through the years at various community studios in North Carolina. In 2022, she immigrated to Bergen, Norway with her family. At the Tiny Island Ceramics studio, Jessica creates thoughtfully produced functional and decorative ceramic wares. She continues to be inspired by nature, travel, architecture, humanity and making everyday objects both functional and beautiful.
